A quick guide to upper back pain.

Upper back pain is not as common as its nasty cousin Lower Back Pain, but those who suffer from upper back pain can tell you that the condition is every bit as serious. Upper back pain problems are often linked to pain in the shoulder blades and the neck, which can often make movement of the neck and head slow and painful. There are a number of causes of upper back pain, which most often include a misplaced disk in the upper vertebrae, or muscle irritation. In many ways the muscle network in the upper neck region is prone to problems. A muscle in your shoulder that has tightened up can pull on muscles around it, and eventually the pain will end up a ways away from the original problem.

The best way to treat upper back pain is to better understand the problem. While this almost certainly includes discussing the pain with a medical professional, it might also mean doing some research on upper back pain for yourself, to better understand the causes of upper back pain so that those activities can be avoided. With the links to your right and below, you will have an arsenal of information at your disposal. With that arsenal you should be able to attack your upper back pain problems in no time.
